How BIG is your God? Mine created the heavens in the earth in 6 days.

It is He, the Living Christ, the second member of the Trinity that "holds" ALL things together.  He keeps the earth rotating on its axis and turning, He holds the stars and the planets in space.

As far as His character goes, the bible says thrice that He is, "holy, holy, holy".

The ancient apostle John, who walked with the incarnated Son of God for three years and then witnessed his death, burial and resurrection, said of Him,

"God is Love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.".
Of all the apostles that walked with Christ, all died martyrs deaths, accept John.  When Peter was to be crucified, he told his captors to crucify him upside down, because he did not feel "worthy to die in the same manner as my Lord".  Paul also could not be shut up no matter the beatings he continued to endure for the sake of telling people about the love of Christ.  Finally, the wicked Nero ordered him sawed in two, but not before he would pen 13 (I would say 14 and include the book of Hebrews myself) letters, nearly half of the New Testament. In his 2nd  letter to the Corinthians he wrote, "in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.  Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;  in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;  in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—  besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

Although John did not die a martyr's death, but survived being boiled alive in a vat of oil, was exiled to the Isle of Patmos where he wrote the Book of Revelation.  He also wrote of Christ in 4 other New Testament letters.

What possessed these men and many others that followed to continue to "preach the good news" at their own peril?  I believe the answer is found in Peter's 2nd epistle when he wrote 2 thousand years ago, "For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.  For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”  And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain."

You see my friends, Peter, John, Paul, Andrew, Matthew, James, and the others SAW the majesty of God. They heard the voice of God the Father on more than one occasion. They saw the miracles, they heard His sermons, they felt His love, they watched Him die and rise again.  Today, their testimony continues in the biggest best seller of all-time, the holy bible.   If it's been a while, maybe it is time for you to brush it off and read His love story to you once again, or maybe its for the first time.

He thinks of you often, and even mentioned you to Thomas, you know, the apostle that at first doubted His resurrection, but years later would travel far away and die a violent death, preaching the cross.  What did the Lord say to Him about you?  He said: " Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”"
Be blessed my friend.  The death He died was for you....and me.  -W.E.
