Megyn Kelly Rebuked For ‘Placating To the Left’
Many will recall a couple of weeks before the election speaking with Newt Gingrich and being quite provocative, at the very least, Kelly suggested that Trump was a "sexual predator". She had also taken every opportunity should could to show over and over the Access Hollywood tape to the point where it was hard not to believe she was pulling for Hillary in the same way, only in clandestine fashion, that Hannity pulled for Trump. Then, last week she totally misrepresented what turned out to be a PizzaGate fluff piece, nothing "fair and balanced" about it.
These are just a few examples of many. To be fair, she has done some good work I have to give her that, but now going after Pam Geller in the fashion she has, with the large reach that she has, - terrible. -W.E.
Host of the TheBlaze TV’s Tomi Lahren blasted Megyn Kelly on Monday for constantly “placating to the left” at the expense of alienating conservatives and Trump supporters.
Lahren pointed out that she has refrained from opining Megyn Kelly Fox News, despite the Fox News’ star controversial feud with then Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
But when Kelly smeared Pamela Geller during an interview last week, Lahren explained, Kelly crossed the line.
Geller “is no question a hateful person who held this ‘Draw Muhammad’ contest down in Texas,” Kelly said. “And then they got attacked by two terrorists. Now she is a provocateur, and she is not a fan of anyone who is Muslim from the sound of what she says. But this is America and she has the right to say those things.”
“I’ve been rather quiet about Megyn Kelly throughout this election cycle,” Lahren said. “She does her thing and speaks her truth and that’s all fine and dandy, even if it has alienated a lot of Trump supporters—that’s on her. But where does she get off saying this?”
Lahren featured Geller on her show to set the record straight in light of Kelly’s berating remarks.
Geller said Kelly has no understanding of freedom of speech is only trying to cater to leftists for opportunistic reasons.
“I have to think, well what has Megyn Kelly done for Muslim girls who are in trouble, who want to live free lives?” Geller asked. “I find it shocking that she A) considers herself a journalist when she knows nothing of my work. B) Smears, defames and libels me, why? Because she’s so eager to move to NBC, ABC, or CBS or one of those last vestiges of ‘ the gold standard of journalism?’ And honestly, if that’s the standard of journalism where we are now then she clearly belongs in one of those cesspools, and they are cesspools because they smear and they defame people. And she owes me an apology.”
Lahren wondered whether Kelly is intentionally trying to alienate conservatives as part of a way to get more attention from the liberal media or is just showing her true colors.
“It’s so weird to me because listening to that [interview], of course from NPR, of all places, if I were to close my eyes and I wouldn’t have looked at any photos and I wouldn’t have known whose voice it was, I would have sworn that that was a liberal,” Lahren said. “I wouldn’t have thought it was going to come from Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. But you know she’s done some very surprising things this year, that I’m rather confused about. I’m not sure if she’s purposely alienating conservatives, purposely alienating Trump supporters. But I don’t know if she’s doing herself a whole lot of favors. Especially by going after you in a meritless way.”
The ‘Draw Muhammad’ art exhibit that she hosted in Texas, Geller said, was about taking a stand for free speech in light of the Charlie Hedo attack.
Lahren said she was appalled that Kelly attacked Geller for defending the First Amendment, rather than denouncing defenders of Sharia law.
“The last time a Christian drew Jesus, or a non-Christian drew Jesus, or a Christian drew a Jew, or any of that, no one died. There wasn’t a terrorist attack,” Lahren said. “I am wondering if she understands the jihadi threat to this nation, or if she is glossing over it like the rest of the mainstream.”
